Toyota Tundra Recall

Toyota Tundra Recall

Toyota recently issued a recall for its Tundra trucks, affecting models from 2000 to 2001; this has now been extended to include 2000 through to 2003 models. Only certain models are included and those that operate in colder climates.

The reason for this is because they could be prone to corrosion on the frame rear cross-member, due to the high road salt being used on the roads. The Toyota Tundra recall has now been increased to include 110,000 vehicles. This is a safety concern, one that needs to be fixed.

In some cases, the spare wheel can become separated from the bottom of the vehicles, this could then lead to a crash as you or another vehicle could hit the runaway wheel. Corrosion could also happen on the rear-cross member, this could have an affect on the braking system.

The extended recall will begin on December 9 and will go on until early 2010. Those who own one of the affected vehicles will be informed by letter of the recall, they will then take their car to their local Toyota dealer. The dealer will then carry out the necessary repairs for free.
