HP’s music plan
– Hewlett-Packard announced a new online music service in Europe on Monday called HP MusicStation. The service will cover 10 countries in Europe and will build off the work of British music provider Omnifone. Though this is a Europe-only service, it puts HP into competition with Apple in online music. Unlike Apple, which sells tracks and albums for download, HP’s service will give people full access to 6.5 million tracks as long as they are a subscriber.
Delta upgrades
– Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines Inc. will invest $1 billion over the next 3 1/2 years to improve customer service, remodel existing aircraft and improve fuel efficiency instead of buying new planes like some of its competitors. Delta, the world’s largest airline, plans to add more entertainment options in coach cabins, lie-flat seats for international premium customers, and airport VIP lounges.
