On Black Friday retailers are offering spectacular deals to lure shoppers as early as possible in their stores. These deals are called doorbusters. These deals are usually only available in very limited quantities and therefore chances to get one are slim.
CNN has published today a critical report on this practice citing retail experts saying this is a sleazy practice. I agree, but I assume most consumers know this by now. Black Friday deal hunting in the mall is a game or a sport if you will.
To “win” this game you have to get up in the middle of the night and stand in the cold (not at Walmart, they are open). If retailers would have plenty of stock it also would take the fun out of the annual Black Friday deal hunt. If you actually get lucky, you can brag about your $600 50-inch Plasma HDTV to your friends and co-workers.
